The Asian leopard cat (Left) resembles a small ocelot, with longish large spots and stripes, and weighs about ten pounds. It is wild and cannot be tamed. Occasionally, a male leopard cat will accept a domestic cat and breed with her. The result of these breeding is a Bengal. The goal of the Bengal breeding program is to create a domestic cat which has physical features distinctive to the small forest-dwelling wild cats, but with the loving, dependable temperament of the domestic cat.

The Bengals must retain the wild look of their forebears, and a coat pattern and color that is unique. The spots are large and horizontally aligned, they do not follow the mackerel or classic pattern and some even have rosettes. There are a variety of background colors, ranging from white to ivory to buff, golden, or orange with contrasting darker brown or black spots.

There is a stigma attached to the Bengal's temperament because of it's ancestry, that is why it is of prime importance to this breed to be as gentle and domesticated as any other domestic breed of cat. Temperament, type, coat and markings make up the requirements for the Bengal. With selective breeding and good socialization I will strive to produce cats that will meet all these expectations.

Bandit Bengals is a medium sized cattery, comprising of selectively chosen Bengals. As a breeder of these exceptionally unique cats, I strive to produce Bengals of high quality in all aspects.

Bandit Bengals produce quality pet, show and breeder kittens of brown and snow with marbling, spots and rosettes. Along with type, pelt and markings I feel temperament to be as important therefore all kittens born here are raised in our family home with our 1 year old son.

As well as being well socialized with people they are also raised around our new puppy "Tinka", a Mini Foxi.

In my experience I find the Bengal to be playful, energetic and friendly cat that is easily adaptable to other animals, and most of all needing of human love and affection. I would recommend anyone looking for an outgoing household pet to consider a Bengal.
